Oakland:

Watch the signs at the airport and follow them for the AirBART connector. When you find the right exit door you'll see two machines that sell AirBART tickets. Tickets cost $2 each way (the driver will take a $2 BART ticket, so just get one and worry about the return later). Every time I've been to the Oakland, the machines were partly broken and wouldn't take coins, but they could just as easily not be taking bills the day you get there so take $2 in each just in case. Go wait for the bus, it will dump you out at the BART station. Buy a ticket and go wait for a Richmond bound train. Get off at the Ashby Bart station and follow the directions of From BART.

SFO:

Follow the signs for Busses on out of the airport. You want route BX which will drop you off at the Colma BART station. Ideally, you want to get a Richmond bound train, but they stop running from Colma after a certain time (check the schedule on the platform) so you may need to get on a Pittsburg/Baypoint train and transfer at the MacArthur Station to a Richmond train. Get off at the Ashby Bart station and follow the directions of From BART.
